Why we are here
We exist as a church because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The word gospel means "Good News" and very simply, the good news can be summarised as follows:

"The bible teaches that every one of us is by nature sinful, we have an inbuilt tendency to do things our way, rather than God's way. Because of this, we are destined for an eternity separated from God; the bible calls this hell. However the good news is that God sent His son, Jesus, into the world, to die for us and pay the penalty for our sins and that if we believe in Him, and accept Him as our saviour, then we can live in relationship with God now and for eternity.

Jesus said "I have come that they (those who believe in Him) may have life, and have it to the full" John 10 v 10 NIV (italics added)
